Temple B'nai Torah is going to the Beach! That's right - please join us for our first annual "Life is a Beach" erev Shabbat Service on Friday evening, July 18th at 6 pm. We will meet at the Temple building at 6 pm and decide as a group if the weather is acceptable and then travel together to Tobay Beach for Shabbat services. This will be a fun, festive, NFTY-oriented service for congregants, family, and friends of all ages. More information will follow, but please plan on attending. Contact Ray Russolillo for additional information. |
I am very pleased to announce the results of the vote last night. The congregants of Temple Judea voted last night to approve the terms of the sale of the Temple Judea building. There were a total of 81 votes: 80 approved and 1 was against the sale. The buyer should be signing the contract any day now. Ray will also sign the contract as soon as he receives it. The buyer then has 45 days to complete its due diligence before closing.
Sincerely,
Judy Kule

On June 19, 2007, the congregants of Temple Judea of Massapequa and the Suburban Temple of Wantagh voted and overwhelmingly approved the merging of the two congregations into one new congregation. Until we have a name for our new congregation, we welcome you to “Our New Temple.”

The two temples will officially become one, on or about July 1, 2008. The building in Massapequa will be sold and the building in Wantagh will be retained for our new temple. Until that time, we are using the transition period to meet, discuss issues and make plans for our joint future in an organized manner. Committees have been formed and are composed of an equal number of congregants from each merging temple. Periodically these committees will be reporting recommendation to our new temple board. This board is made up of 12 members from each legacy temple’s current executive committee.
